Hello Everyone,

On Monday, September 10th we will paint 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Kathleen Bailey’s place.  Those who would like to can also go nearby to paint at Carol Adam’s yard (limited parking).  Critique will be held at Kathleen’s house.
 
Directions to Kathleen’s from Bandon: Take 42S toward Coquille from Hwy 101 near Ray’s Food Place .  Go east a little over a mile and turn left onto Prosper Jct. Road .  Continue a short way on Prosper Jct. Rd until the road forks…veer to the right onto Tom Smith Road .  Her place is the 2nd driveway on the left, then a quick right into the circle (around the house) driveway.
 
I will be working that day.  Hope you can make it, and enjoy the painting.

In September, for twelve weeks we will be meeting Monday evenings to study and follow her newest book Prosperous Heart by Julia Cameron, author of The Artist's Way. $120 for 12 weekly sessions. 
The tools of The Prosperous Heart help people to embrace the life that they actually have, where they often find that they already have “enough.”
In this difficult day and time, what can people do to find prosperity? There are two very practical tools used by my students. The first one is Morning Pages, where they track their dreams, their disappointments, dreams and desires. The second tool is Counting, where they record money in and money out. We often find we are spending money in ways that do not serve us. As we work with these two consciousness-raising tools, we find ourselves spending along the lines of our true values. As a result, we feel we have “more.”

Friends of the Florence Events Center , announces its call to artists for the 2012 show which will open on Friday, November 2.   
The show will feature both two and three-dimensional art, including painting, photography, sculpture, and more. There will be a special category for young artists as well.
Awards include Best of Show, Young Artist Awards, and People's Choice Award. First, Second & Third place ribbons will be awarded in the three categories.

Friends of the Florence Events Center , announces its call to artists for the 2012 show which will open on Friday, November 2.   
The show will feature both two and three-dimensional art, including painting, photography, sculpture, and more. There will be a special category for young artists as well.
Awards include Best of Show, Young Artist Awards, and People's Choice Award. First, Second & Third place ribbons will be awarded in the three categories.
Jurors are Pat Snyder and Donna Gilhousen

Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century is an international juried competition hosted annually by the Art Center of Clatsop Community College in Astoria , Oregon , with a focus on the time-honored tradition of the nude human figure, an art form that continues to inspire and challenge many artists today as one of the most potentially rewarding subjects to explore. This exhibit represents a wide range of interpretations of the human figure from representational to abstract, and is open to all artists from around the world working in any drawing, painting, and printmaking media in which the handmade mark is employed as the primary means of image-making.

Non-juried show--Deliver up to three pieces of work to Coos Art Museum on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, October 2nd, 3rd or 4th, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Reception will be Friday, Oct. 12th, 5 - 7 p.m. 
Winner of Peoples' Choice Award will be given a solo exhibition at CAM in 2013.
