Watercolors of Wei M. Lew - Coos Bay Public Library

The Coos Bay Public Library Foundation is pleased to invite you to view the watercolors of Wei M. Lew in the library gallery during the month of August, 2012. In college, this San Francisco Bay Area native studied under renowned artists Richard Diebenkorn, David Olivera and Matthew Kahn. Now retired from a career in clinical psychology, Dr. Lew devotes more time and energy to his art. He currently studies with noted watercolorist John Warner and he has exhibited in numerous shows around San Francisco. Through local friends, Dr. Lew now shares his art with us in the Coos Bay area.

Dr. Lew’s watercolors encompass still lifes, landscapes, portraits and animals. His style marries bright colors with wet-on-wet and Chinese brush stroke techniques, resulting in paintings with an Asian influence and interesting effects that cannot be duplicated.

Please visit the Coos Bay Public Library in August to view a collection of unique paintings of Dr. Wei M. Lew.
