Second Street Gallery, at 210 Second Street in Old Town
Bandon, announces their second annual celebration of
photographic art. The celebration includes a competition for
amateur photographers, workshops and an exhibition of all
photography entered in the competition.
All amateur photographers who reside in the State of Oregon
are invited to submit up to 3 photographs no larger than 11
x 14 inches in size. The categories for adult submissions
included landscape & seascape, people & wildlife and
experimental, where photo editing software was utilized.
There is also a youth division for young people under the
age of 18 years. Prizes will be awarded for entries in all
categories that demonstrated excellence in areas of
creativity, image quality and artistic composition. Entries
can be created using film or digital formats and can be in
color as well as black and white formats.
A panel of 3 judges, including local photographer Wood
Sabold, graphic designer Bill Kelsay and gallery owner &
photographer Richard Rahmlow, will review all the entries to
determine the winners. Ribbons will be awarded for each
category and gift certificates will be presented to the
winners. The deadline for submission of work is October 27,
2011.
In addition to the competition and show, workshops will be
held in all phases of photography. Many topics will be
discussed including camera handling, lighting, composition
and Photoshop. A field trip and critique session will also
be included. All workshops will be held the weekend of
October 29th & 30th.
