Wretched Excess

The Fantastic World of Stan Fullerton is an unexpected and fabulous show of
painting by one of Coos Bay's great unknown artists.

Stan grew up in Coos Bay and moved to the San Francisco Bay area. He has
pursued painting and drawing throughout his life. In the 1950s he associated
with members of the Beat literary movement. He married Gail Fullerton who
became president of San Jose State University in the 1980s. Stan hung out
with the painters at SJSU and was instrumental in expanding their art
department to include casting and fabrication.

This exhibit features large colorful paintings of friends and family
exploring themes of culinary, food, and joyful excess. The paintings are for
sale and our culinary and tutoring center might be good places for permanent
homes for these engaging and energetic canvases.

This exhibit was made possible by our art historian, Fred Vassar. Please
come over to Eden Hall and see the exhibit.
