Equip yourself with a sturdy foundation in the Basics of Drawing through the guidance and instruction provided by renowned artist Allen (Tony) Adams.  Comprised of six sessions, this Basics of Drawing Workshop will take place at Coos Art Museum Wednesdays, April 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, and May 6, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Essentials required for successful drawing and proficiency in illustration will be covered, such as:
·         the creative process
·         helpful hints on perspective
·         composition and design
·         introduction to various drawing mediums
·         techniques in creating successful illustrations

Each session includes instructor demonstrations in addition to one-on-one help in improving and developing each participant’s approach to creating the kind of drawings that they are striving to achieve. 

Individuals of all skill levels are welcome to come learn from one of the area’s premier realist artists, Allen (Tony) Adams.  The instructor’s qualifications include time spent as a screen cartoonist at Walt Disney Studios and 30 years as an illustrator and graphic designer at General Dynamics Corp. 

Class size is limited to 10 participants. Registration ends March 24, 2015. Cost is $135 for CAM members, $150 for non-members. Basics of Drawing is designed for adults and teens (if it works into their homeschooling / school schedule). Eligible teens with a strong interest in drawing are encouraged to apply for a CAM Art Education Scholarship to offset workshop fee.
