Coos Bay Artist, Donna Wright, will be making a splash at
Sage Place this Saturday, August 25th, during a book
signing, from 11-1 pm. Donna's watercolor
"Coyote Moon" is featured on the back cover of the newly
released "Splash 13: Alternative Methods in Watercolor",
published by North Light Books. Donna has spent most of her

pouring watercolor pigments, texturing the surface,
visualizing forms that appear, and bringing them to life
with minimal surface work. Dramatic and masterful in the use
of color, Donna's paintings appeal to the collector with an
affinity for abstraction and suggestive form.
A dynamic and intuitive painter, Donna has been an
instructor for Southwestern Community College for several
semesters and also teaches the pouring technique through
Sage Place. Following Donna's booksigning, she will be
teaching a collage workshop at Sage from 1-4 pm. Included
in the class will be pouring and compositional techniques
using acrylic paints, the creation of "filters" as collage
components, techniques for the palette knife and much more.
Those who attend the signing will be able to purchase books
at Sage Place for the event; the cost is $25. Students
interested in taking Donna's workshop may register by
