****Congratulations to Susan Lehman who has a new show-- "Beyond Words--Lyrical Collages of Susan Lehman" at Fisher's Flowers & Fine Art, 638 W. Harrison St., Roseburg, OR.  The opening reception is September 14th, 5 -7 p.m.  The show runs Sept. 14th through Nov. 12th.  Gallery hours are Mon.- Friday-- 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
****Congratulations to Angela Pozzi of Artula Institute for Arts & Environmental Education for receiving the title of "Woman of the Year" by Oregon Women's Report in July in Portland.  She earned the award for her work in raising awareness of marine debris through her Washed Ashore sculptures.

constructing the newest member of the Washed Ashore family.  This work is
designed to permanently reside at the Chula Vista Nataure Center in San

Friends of the Florence Events Center, announces its call to artists for the 2012 show which will open on Friday, November 2.   
The show will feature both two and three-dimensional art, including painting, photography, sculpture, and more. There will be a special category for young artists as well.
Awards include Best of Show, Young Artist Awards, and People's Choice Award. First, Second & Third place ribbons will be awarded in the three categories.

The Southern Oregon Art Guild is seeking artists and artisans to show their art and fine crafts for sale in the third annual Southern Oregon Festival of Arts. The show is open to all Oregon artists, but Douglas County artists are especially encouraged to apply soon. The Festival takes place on October 6, 2012, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm in the Seven Feathers Casino Resort Convention Center. Friends of the Florence Events Center, announces its call to artists for the 2012 show which will open on Friday, November 2.   
The show will feature both two and three-dimensional art, including painting, photography, sculpture, and more. There will be a special category for young artists as well.
Awards include Best of Show, Young Artist Awards, and People's Choice Award. First, Second & Third place ribbons will be awarded in the three categories.

Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century is an international juried competition hosted annually by the Art Center of Clatsop Community College in Astoria, Oregon, with a focus on the time-honored tradition of the nude human figure, an art form that continues to inspire and challenge many artists today as one of the most potentially rewarding subjects to explore. This exhibit represents a wide range of interpretations of the human figure from representational to abstract, and is open to all artists from around the world working in any drawing, painting, and printmaking media in which the handmade mark is employed as the primary means of image-making.
