Coos Art Museum Fall Lecture Series

Fall lecture series themes are based upon the Coos Art Museum exhibitions taking place during the same time.  This year’s lecture series is free to both Coos Art Museum members and non-members.  Donations are gladly accepted.

From Eye Makeup to Pyramid Power presented by Steven Broocks
Steven Broocks, Coos Art Museum’s Executive Director, discusses the basic attributes of Ancient Egyptian art and thought developed immediately before and during the reigns of the earliest pharaohs.

Printmaking and the Permanent Collection presented by Pat Snyder
One of the area’s most imaginative and skilled printmakers Pat Snyder provides insight into the fine art prints within Coos Art Museum’s Permanent Collection.

One of North Bend’s best known cultural leaders and artists Emily Ashworth discusses her inspiration and artistic process.

A Sense of Place Discussion presented by Mayor Crystal Shoji
Coos Bay Mayor Crystal Shoji leads a conversation with A Sense of Place artists and members of the public about the past, present and future of the “Bay Area”.

Coos Art Museum has been a cultural focal point of Oregon’s scenic Southern Coast since 1966. It occupies the historic 1936 Art Deco US Federal Building in downtown Coos Bay. The Museum offers a wide range of arts activities including exhibitions, art classes and lectures. Hours are 10:00am to 4:00pm, Tuesday through Friday and 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday.  Museum admission: $5 general, $2 students, veterans and seniors, free to Museum members.
