Here All Week

SOUTH COAST FOLK WEEK STARTS SUNDAY!
Visit www.southcoastfolkweek.com for a complete schedule and workshop descriptions. We have something for everyone. There are contra dances for complete beginners; workshops for song leaders, musicians, dancers, and aspiring callers; a sing-along; and a concert. Admission to everything is by donation. Seriously -- just come.

Have a friend who's never been to a contra dance? Bring him or her to a contra dance during Folk Week -- we have dances Sunday night, Friday night and Saturday night -- and you'll both get a free ticket to a South Coast Folk Society contra dance, redeemable in October or November.

REGULAR MONTHLY EVENTS
This month our contra dance schedule is a bit disordered by Folk Week. We have contra dances Oct. 10 at Harding School and Oct. 17 at Greenacres Grange and our fourth-Friday international folk dance Oct. 23 at Greenacres Grange).

Also, there's no Second Sunday Sing-along this month. It's been replaced by the song-leader workshop Sunday, Oct. 4, 2-3 p.m. followed by a sing-along 3-4 p.m. at which the budding song-leaders will practice their new skills. Even if you don't want to learn about song leading, come at 3 p.m. and let us lead you in song. It's at the North Bend Public Library, just like the regular sing-along.

There's also no session at Liberty Pub, on Wednesday Oct. 7. Come to the contra dance workshop instead! Session will resume on Oct. 21. In fact, there are sessions at Liberty Pub every Wednesday now -- but the South Coast Folk Society is organizing only the first (Celtic), third (contra) and occasional fifth (old-time) Wednesdays. Watch for a non-pub, all-ages monthly session starting in November, too.

GIVE OUR SPONSORS SOME LOVE
Wavecrest Discoveries, Coquille Tribal Community Fund, New Community Coalition/The Guild, Ocean Ridge Assisted Living, Bayside Terrace, 7 Devils Brewing, K-DOCK, Cedar Electric, and Liberty Pub all sponsored South Coast Folk Week. Also donating goods, services or cash were Cash and Carry, Abby’s Pizza, McDonald’s, Safeway, and McKay’s Markets. Please let them know that you appreciate them!

See you at Folk Week!
