Maybe that's too big a question for mid-week, so let's bite of a smaller bit and ask what are you doing tomorrow night?

You should be going to Seven Devils brewery, not for the beer although that is a very good thing to go for, but not on this occasion, no you should go for St Cinder.

Now what is St Cinder you may ask?

It is not a weighty philosophical question, nor a metaphysical problem to perplex the very wisdom of the ages, you won't need a yogi, llama, rabbi or even Yoda to unravel this mystery, you might even get it right with a SWAG. (Ask your kids.)

St Cinder is a band and they are unique, exotic, delightful and different.

Now if you lived through the Sixties, and you have any memories of that time, you might recall a band named Spanky and Our Gang. No, that was a different Our Gang. This Our Gang featured the song writing talents of Malcolm Hale and Nigel Pickering and the soaring, incomparable voice of Elaine Macfarland. Spanky and Our Gang burst on to the scene, produced five number one hits including, Sunday Morning, Like to Get to Know You, and Sunday Will Never be the Same and then tragically with the sudden and unexpected death of Malcolm Hale, vanished.

Their hit making kept them alive, but their real spark was in the old Blues and novelty numbers they revived or introduced. The Five Definitions of Love, Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary's exact definition put to song and the wickedly funny and wry “Pot’s too Good To be Just for the Young” were too smart for their audience.

They also introduced, “Jet Plane”, and Everybody’s Talkin at me” and reminded the World that Hoagy Carmichael wrote more than just Stardust.  Hong Kong Blues and Nagasaki sparkle and the a capella version of Stardust is a gem.

But back to the point which is a very reasonable thing to do and important to the flow of this article and Seven Devils and St Cinder, so I will stop beating around that tired ole bush and say, go see St Cinder at Seven Devils!

They ain’t the usual struggling rock band and you might just learn something and you could have a good time and then you wouldn’t have to be told to go see St Cinder cause you’d be yelling it from the rooftops and then the place would sell out and they’d have to be held over and you wouldn’t be able to get in even though you were one of the first to discover St Cinder and that would be horrible so don’t wait, go to Seven devils brewery and see St Cinder while you still can!

They played for the Farmer’s Market so the word is out and you can’t delay, call now and you won’t be left out when St Cinder plays at Seven Devils Brewery tomorrow night. Ole Trawler says check it out.
