Barn Dance

Another full season of Barn Dances will conclude on May 10 with a wonderful evening of music and dance.  We have arranged for fantastic musicians from throughout the South Coast to play together for this special dance,  And, one of our favorite callers, Silas Minyard of Portland, will guide us every step of the way with an inspired selection of new dances. It should be a great evening.
Please see our PSA which is attached, and also reprinted below for your convenience.
Thanks for all your help throughout the dance year.

Big Barn Dance May 10 in Greenacres
The South Coast Folk Society will host a big public Barn Dance at the Greenacres Grange Hall on Saturday evening, May 10.  Singles, couples and families are all welcome. The fun begins at 7PM when dance instruction will be given by our guest caller Silas Minyard of Portland.  The dances are so easy to learn that all levels of experience will enjoy dancing together, and Silas is a great teacher.  He will call a variety of interesting dances throughout the evening.
Music for our May dance will be provided by Willow Creek and Friends, a vibrant collection of charismatic musicians from the South Coast.  They will play lively, energizing dance tunes until 10PM.  The program includes contras, circle mixers, and a waltz or two.  First timers who arrive in time for the 7PM lesson will receive a ticket for free admission to their second dance.  This event is alcohol and fragrance free.  Put on your dancing shoes and join us.
The Second-Saturday Barn Dance is sponsored by the non-profit South Coast Folk Society.  They will hold their annual meeting and pot luck at 5PM prior to the May 10 dance.  Members and anyone interested in learning more about the Folk Society are welcome to attend.

Refreshments are available during the dance.  Doors open at 6:45PM.  Admission:  General $7, Students w/ID and Seniors over 60 $6, Members $5, and Supervised Children under 6 are free. For more information call 541-572-5370 or visit http://southcoastfolksociety.wordpress.com  or Facebook.
