Our current show, “Water, the Substance of Life”, represents what is important and sets our area apart from many others. Water, in all of its forms, plays a vital role in all of our lives. We may complain about the rain, but our area would not be so beautiful and lush without it. Why do people vacation to the Oregon Coast?...to see our powerful ocean, lush forests, beautiful rivers and waterfalls. Now some of those most precious images are part of our featured show. This open show was judged by Carolyn Le Grand and Georg (Ike) Kistenmacher. A big thank you goes to these art professionals who pulled together their expertise to select images for ribbons in the show. Their criteria was: 1-Creativity, 2-Design, 3-Mastery of the medium. Make a point of visiting the gallery this month to check out the beautiful entries and to make your own selection for the “People’s Choice” Best of Show ribbon. The work is varied in mediums, design and subjects. It would be a great show to bring any of your visiting company to view. This show will remain on display until the end of August.
Our show for September-October will be “All Mixed Up!”. All art pieces submitted to the show must include at least two distinct art mediums. Get your creative ideas flowing and create a mixed media piece for the show. There is no limit set on the size of an entry and there is never a entry fee charged. Two-Dimensional pieces must be ready to hang and three-dimensional pieces are welcomed. You may enter up to two pieces. Your art entries should be delivered to the gallery on either August 30 or 31 between the hours of 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This should prove to be an exciting show and we hope that you will plan to be a part of this show.
We can help you frame your work to enhance its strong points. Has your work been juried into an upcoming show? We can show you many options and have it ready for the show. We are happy to give you an estimate on any framing job. BAAA members, students and military always receive 10% off any framing or matting order. Our computerized mat cutter can do exciting decorative cuts to dress up any mat. Do you want a special gift for someone? We can cut out their name letters in a mat that you can then fill with photos for that personal gift.
