Note on sizing your images for submissions!

Deadlines June 8th!

Kudo's to sooo many who are trying some with success and some with much frustration while submitting "online"!

I too, with frustration of failure and success in trying to help you.

Here is an explanation -

Why do your images refuse to upload? They are still too big. Yes, your software application states that they are under the 6mb file size requirement, but alas, the application is referring to the image as a "closed" file. When you upload a file, the computer has to open it and in doing so it becomes much much bigger than that.

So, " to properly size for "uploading" images please only refer to the pixel sizes. Disregard the megabytes, the DPI and everything else!

Here is your guideline when sizing.

Pixel height x Pixel width should not exceed 2090000 pixels;
In other words, 1445 pixels x 1445 pixels would equal 6 MB, the maximum.

If you have received the message that the file is too big, or you just cannot get them to send, just resize to pixels ok?

We will get this down yet! I know we can do it!

I remember the days when you all have to hand deliver your work to be judged and then come back and pick it up too..... we have come along since then in so many ways, just one more learning curve...
That being said, again only look at the pixel sizes. You can use the above as an example for yourself. One of your images may be a pixel size of 1024 x 1210 in pixel size, this is fine for "uploading" and should come to me just fine.
Thank you each and everyone for your patience and willingness to learn, grow and continue on the path to gallery submissions!

One big fan here,
