Ava Richey's Art News

Hi Everyone,

Please print this so you will have the schedule. :)

Several of us are participating in the "30 Parks by 30 Artists" show, so I will be scheduling paintouts at Coos County Parks for the next few weeks. Because there are more parks than there are Mondays between now and Aug. 22nd, I'll give you a schedule now so you can know the whole plan. There may be changes as we work things out. :)

We will be visiting these areas, sometimes painting, sometimes photographing.
We will meet to carpool or caravan at Ray's parking lot, north end by Bree's...time announced each week--depends on where we are going that week.

12:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Monday, June 13 Bandon: Coquille Point then South Jetty
Monday, June 20 Bastendorf Beach then Charleston County Park
Monday, June 27 Whiskey Run Beach then Rocky Point Boat Ramp
Monday, July 4th No Paintout Scheduled
Monday, July 11th Coquille Boat Ramp, Wallace Dement Park, Arago Boat Ramp
Monday, July 18th Judah Parker Park, Riverton Boat Ramp
Monday, July 25th Fairview Area -- LaVerne Park, West LaVerne Park, Rock Prairie Park
Monday, August 1st 12:00 - 3 p.m. Elk River Fish Hatchery (joining Port Orford painters)
Monday August 8th Lakeside Area -- Ten Mile Lake Park, Lakeside Dune Tract, Saunders Lake Boat Ramp, Hauser Dune Tract and Riley Ranch -- We may not get to all of these...
Monday, August 15th Nesika Park, R. Higgins Park, Doris Place Boat Ramp, Myrtle Tree Boat Ramp -- These are all in the Allegany area.

Places you will need to do on your own: Bradley Lake Boat Ramp, Frona, Ham Bunch and Middle Creek Park, Bennett Park, Sandy Creek Covered Bridge at Remote, and Powers Park.
Please share your photos so we have the opportunity to paint all 30 parks, in case someone doesn't have time to get there.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would like to encourage artists to participate in the "30 Parks by 30 Artists" show.
You don't have to be a Coos County resident to join in. The challenge is to paint 30 Coos County Parks (or as many as you possibly can get to) on paper that is provided by the show producer S.L. Donaldson. No matting or framing required. Costs are underwritten by a grant from the Coos County Cultural Coalition.

You have all summer to paint these parks--June, July and August--so please send in your entry and receive the packet of painting surfaces right away. Map and Entry Information is available at: http://sldonaldsonfineart.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/30parksby30artists.pdf
