Lighthouses 2.0 Reception

It was a dark and stormy night, but that didn’t stop the few, the proud, the intrepid artists of Coos County from attending the reception for Lighthouses 2.0. at Whistling Gallery in Bandon. Valentina Alanso had the Best in Show with “Welcoming Light”. Sheri McGrath placed second for “Lighthouse Collage”, but you can see all of the winners, (There are no losers in a show like this), when you get up off the couch and make the drive to Whistling Gallery. The Gallery is open Thursday through Monday from 12 – 5, on account of it being winter, even though the Spring Equinox has come and gone and the ground hog has ducked back into his den, it is still cold and rainy and if you don’t believe that just try skinny dipping or nekkid streaking and you will know in an instant that it is still winter so don’t show up expecting to get in a 10 AM because its winter and that’s a summer hour.

So while you are waiting for it to get warm and dry enough to get out and do something really dirty and filthy, like planting in your garden, why not head South to Bandon and see the show?

And if you drag your feet and when and complain until April the tenth, on the way back you can stop at the Southern Coos Hospital and have a look the art of S. L. Donaldson, Tim Greathead, Micheal Ousley and Yvonne Ousley, cause by that time their show will be up but if you go today you can stop and have something sweet and neat in Old Town Bandon, now isn’t that better than going to the hospital? No, silly, not the art, going to see the art is a good thing, going to the hospital before April the tenth is a bad thing. Try to keep things straight.

So don’t miss the Lighthouses 2.0 show at Whistling Gallery and what you do after is your decision!
