If you are staying at home on Sundays, and with the wild weather we've been having who wouldn't, you should take a look at Halogen TV's Artland. This series travels the US finding unique art treasures in the outback.
On last week's program they profiled New Mexico potter Sandra Victorino. Her coiled bas relief pottery is unique to the Acuna culture and might well escape the notice of an artist from a different geographical area.
this is one of those rare television programs which bring art to an audience much wide than the art would reach on its own. In addition to providing much needed exposure to regional artists it allows others to believe in the opportunity to get their own work profiled.
