Tell Your Story at Coos Art Museum
Coos Bay – Coos Art Museum (CAM) is celebrating 50 years as a
center of arts and culture on Oregon’s South Coast. In celebration of this accomplishment the Museum will be
hosting CAM Community Days during its 2016 Anniversary year. CAM Community Days
are interactive, hands on Saturdays in the art museum.
Saturday,
April 30, 2016 will be the second interactive Saturday themed, “Tell Your
Story.” For centuries civilizations have utilized art to communicate stories
and cultural traditions. Join us at Coos Art Museum and engage in
activities and displays that tell “Your” story and “Ours.” Activities will
include: a story telling project, “Community Mosaic” and “Can you tell me more
about this picture?” quest. We have even pulled out the Museum scrap books for you
to enjoy! Please stop by and share your memories about the art museum with us.
We are collecting oral and pictorial stories.
This event is open to the public. Coos Art Museum is located in
downtown Coos Bay on Anderson and doors open at 10 am. Admission to the Museum is FREE for CAM Community
Days thanks to the generous support of local business sponsors: Grami
Properties, Honda World, Century 21 Best Realty, Inc. and Spotlight Country Bar
& Night Club.
Saturday, April 30th will also mark the official start of
the 2016 Coos Art Museum Arts & Culture Rally & Charm Trail. Pick up
your rally map and follow it to 50 local arts and culture venues. Each stop on
the map has a special collector charm you can purchase for $1.50. If you visit
all 50 sites you can return to Coos Art Museum and get a prize.
