From our president, Jan Doyle: "The South
Coast Folk Society needs four people to step into board positions to replace
outgoing members. The board of directors of the South Coast Folk Society meets
about four times a year and determines the policy and direction for the South
Coast Folk Society. It is a great organization to support. Everyone's ideas are
welcome and everyone's help is needed. Please contact Jan Doyle (
janhdoyle@gmail.com), Scott Knowles (
sknowles1952@gmail.com) or Glenda
DeJong (
gdejong@hotmail.com) for more
information."
Members of the society elect the board members at our annual
meeting, usually held before the May contra dance. Then the board members elect
the officers. Board members serve a two-year term. Anyone can attend our annual
meeting, but only members can vote. Members have one of our lovely membership
cards. If you'd like to become a member, or aren't sure if you are one, come to
a contra dance or folk dance and Judy Soto will sell you a card or tell you that
you already have one.
