Passion to Perform - Art Competition

Yamana Gold, one of the world's leading gold mining companies, announces a call to artists for an international juried art competition. First prize $6,000, second prize $2,500 and third prize of $1,000. In addition, the corporation has established a fund for the acquisition of additional artworks for its private collection. The value for the artworks submitted can only be up to U$1,500 in order to be accepted into the competition and to accommodate the possible acquisition of the artwork. Artists are asked to create works inspired by Yamana Gold and its core principles: Sustainability, Dependability, Respect for the environment and our communities, and Safety of our colleagues. Works entered must be original compositions created by the entrant, and can be in the form of paintings, photography, sculptures or drawings. Approximately 35 artists selected from the online entries will be invited to deliver their actual works for final selection (shipment and insurance will be covered by Yamana Gold). Submissions that are awarded any of first, second or third prizes become the property of Yamana Gold.
