SECOND STREET GALLERY

Second Street Gallery, at 210 Second Street in Old Town Bandon, is pleased to announce their third annual Call to Artists for a “Miniature and Small Works Open Exhibition” for the months of June & July, 2011. All 2 dimensional artists are invited to exhibit up to three pieces of their original artwork. The “miniature” category is any original painting less than 8 inches in any direction, excluding frame; “small works” is any painting up to 14” in any direction, excluding frame. All work must be framed with a wire hanger or on gallery-wrapped canvas. Gallery Executive Director, Richard Rahmlow, says that there will be prizes awarded and that during this event the gallery will encourage sales for the participating artists by offering reduced commissions. All work must be submitted between Monday, May 23 and Sunday, May 29, 2011, between 10AM and 5PM daily. The show is scheduled to open Saturday, June 4, 2011.

Their Third Annual Call to Artists For A
Miniatures & Small Works Exhibition
June 1, 2011—July 24, 2011

Accepted Media: All 2-D media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, drawing, print making (artist pulled prints), collage, mixed media & encaustic
Not Included: Photography and digital prints of any kind
2 Categories: Miniature – Up to 8” maximum in any direction, excluding frame dimension
Small Works – Up to 14” maximum in any direction, excluding frame dimension

All work must be framed or on gallery wrap canvas; including a wire hanger (no sawtooth hangers please).

The non-refundable fees to exhibit are $10 for the first piece, $5 for the second piece and $5 for the third piece.
A panel of non-exhibiting artists will award Second Street Gallery gift certificate prizes as follows: $100 for first place, $50 for second place, $30 for third place and 6 honorable mentions of $20 each.

Monday, May 23 – Sunday, May 29, between 10 – 5 PM, drop off 1 – 3 pieces of art with paperwork and fees at Second Street Gallery, 210 2nd Street SE, Bandon, OR

Note: During this exhibition of miniatures and small works, the gallery commission will be 25%. This is being done to encourage participation and sales; please price your work accordingly. Remember to bring a copy of your biography, without contact information, to be included in the show binder. Artists who have sold work during the exhibition can pick up their checks on the 10th of August, 2011.
