Second Sunday Sing-Along

Since the North Bend Public Library has collaborated with us on this event, we've been seeing much better attendance. We've been having some great accompanists, too. If you haven't been to sing-along for a while, come check it out.
Celtic Session
First and third Wednesdays (Nov. 5, Nov. 19) at Liberty Pub, 2047 Sherman Ave, North Bend. Play or listen!
International Folk Dance Friday, Nov. 28
Starts at 7 p.m., Greenacres Grange. Teaching, followed by requests. Admission is $4, or $3 for members of SCFS. This month it's the day after Thanksgiving. What a great place to bring your out-of-town guests and work off the turkey!

Learn to Folk Dance FOR FREE
Learn to Folk Dance FOR FREE
Dance teacher Stacy Rose is offering a free "Anti-Stress for the Holidays" four-week folk dance lesson series. Drop in on Tuesday nights Nov. 25 through Dec. 16, 7-9 p.m., at Harding Learning Center, 755 S. 7th St. Coos Bay. "We’re approaching a challenging time of year – exercise relieves stress, and dancing is fun!" Stacy says. Learn fun dances to interesting music from all around the world. This is a great opportunity to try something new or to reconnect with folk dance if you used to do it. If you've always wanted to come to our Fourth Friday International Folk Dances at Greenacres Grange but have been intimidated because you don't think you know enough dances, here's an opportunity to add to your repertoire.
South Coast Folk Week Needs Event Coordinators!
Our Country Dance and Song Society tour stop in October 2015, South Coast Folk Week, needs your help. Attached is the schedule of events. If an event appears in red, someone has already volunteered to coordinate it. Please pick out an event that appears in black and volunteer to coordinate it by emailing southcoastfolksociety@gmail.com. Remember, the events are led by visiting instructors -- you just have to coordinate the event (assigning tasks to volunteers, setting up the room, whatever). For more information about Folk Week, visit http://southcoastfolksociety.wordpress.com/cdss-tour/. On that page, please check out the list of things we need, like ambassadors to speak to community groups, community groups to speak to, and testimonials about how much you like traditional music and dance.
