Dear Art Lovers,
I enjoyed Oregon Art Beat last night on OPB. They had a nice piece on Karin Richardson,
glass, wood, rock and seaweed artist.
You may be
able to see this
again on Sunday, the 11th,or on the OPB Website.
I wanted to remind everyone that the Coos Art Museum will be
featured on Oregon Art Beat next Thursday night, November 15th, at
8:00pm.
Several weeks ago they featured David Castleberry and his
fish display that is up at Southwestern Oregon Regional Airport. If you missed it, you and go to
the OPB website and see that episode.
David’s fish are just a delight to look at and they are also for
sale. If you have a chance to go by the airport,
it is a wonderful exhibit. Parking
is free for one hour and it’s a great thing to see on a rainy day and a
fun thing to take children
to see.
There are only two more weeks to see CAM Biennial and there
are only two more days to vote for your favorite artist and/or artwork. The artist with the most votes
will be given their only show at the end of next year, 2013. So if you have the time and want to
be part of the voting process, please come by the Coos Art Museum Friday,
November 09th or Saturday, November 10th. This is another great place to go on a
rainy day.
And last but not least, we are gearing up for the Ken Means’
Carousel Exhibition. This show will
open on December 7th and run through January 26. This show with be free to children accompanied by an Adult
and of course free to CAM members. We will also be extending our Saturday
hours from
1:00 to 4:00 to
10:00 to
4:00. This is an exhibition for children of
all ages.
Our membership drive for 2013 is in full swing. We have had 72 Members already renew and
18 New Member for 2013. What a
great start for the 2013 Membership Drive. It is because of our membership that we
are able to provide our community and our tourists with great exhibitions, art education
for children
and adults and rental sales of
fantastic art for home and businesses. Thanks to the renewing and new
memberships for your early response.
Guess I packed enough into this one email for today. Look forward to seeing all of you at the Coos Art Museum soon.
Sincerely,
Deryl Beebe
