Art 101 Call to Artists

CALL TO ARTISTS and Craftspeople of all ages!

ART 101 in Bandon, Oregon is reopening and adding a new non-profit wing of its gallery called the ARTULA gallery.

We are immediately seeking artwork and fine crafts made from recycled, reclaimed and reused materials. All work will be juried and must be for sale.
We are looking for work which has clean and aesthetically pleasing designs, good craftsmanship, salability and innovative thinking.

All work will be on consignment with 50% going to the artist.
The other 50% will be donated to the Artula Institute for Arts and Environmental Education –a non-profit corporation which is sponsoring the Washed Ashore project.
Priority will be given to artists and students working with plastic marine debris creating, jewelry, rugs, tapestries, sculptures, collage, basketry, mosaics, weavings, book covers, etc.

Unique items made of wood, reeds, branches, bamboo, stone, seaweed and handmade paper that uses non-toxic processes will also be considered.

Pozzi at ahpozzi@seathingsart.com, for preliminary viewing, or bring your work to ART 101 gallery by appointment or on Mondays from 1 - 5pm. Please call, 541-347 – 2859 or 360-991-3891. If you do not have photographs you may be required to leave your work for 1 - 2 days for jurying.

Juried show : The Ocean's Edge - where the land meets the sea

What: A juried educational exhibit
When: May 1 - June 27, 2010
Where: ART 101, Bandon, Oregon.
Who: Professional and student work will be considered.

Media accepted: painting, drawing, weaving, assemblage, printmaking and collage.

Criteria for selection:
- a variety of styles and techniques will be selected which form a cohesive exhibit..

Individual work will be judged on:
- composition
- technical skill
- craftsmanship
- originality
- innovation
- expression of ideas and feelings.

Submit work via email photos to: ahpozzi@seathingsart.com - by April 18th or submit original work at Art 101 gallery from 3 - 9 pm on Tuesday, April 27th.
Juried: April 28th. Show opens: May 1st, 2010.
Size: limit is 4'x6', but, smaller works are more likely to be accepted because of our limited gallery space. Work not selected must get picked up by April 29 and 30th or it becomes property of Artula Institute.
