The show is open to all photographers and all
forms of photographic expression are encouraged. Images
previously accepted into a NVAL International Juried Photography Show
are not eligible.

JUROR: Thom Sempere, Executive Director of
PhotoAlliance in San Francisco, has been actively involved in
the photography community in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1977 as
an artist, educator, curator and arts administrator. He is also
currently a visiting faculty member at the San Francisco Art
Institute and a lecturer in the Continuing Studies program at Stanford University, teaching photography.
His work in curatorial and arts
administration began in 1983 in Seattle, as curator of the Joseph and
Elaine Monsen Collection of Photography, and later as Director of
Education and Exhibitions at the Photographic Center Northwest.
Subsequently, he worked ten years at the San Francisco Museum of Modern
Art (SFMOMA).
He
holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the San Francisco
Art Institute and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Washington. His photographs are in
the permanent collection at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and
have been exhibited in venues across the United States as well as in China.

The North Valley Art League is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization
dedicated to furthering the visual arts in the northern California region. Your entry fees
cover prize money and show expenses. Any remaining monies will
help fund the operating expenses of the NVAL Carter House
Gallery.
