Unpaid Undeterred

Helping our Coast Guard Neighbors

Many have been concerned about how to best help those in our community who provide needed services to us on a daily basis and who are negatively impacted by the government shutdown.  We found out today that assistance can be provided to those who are in the Coast Guard and are in need through the Chief Petty Officers Association.  It’s a non-profit located at the North Bend sector and they are allowed to take donations and distribute them to the Coast Guard members that need them the most. If you would like to mail a check or money order or a gift card, please address your envelope to Chief Petty Officer Association, North Bend Sector, 2000 Connecticut Avenue, North Bend, Oregon 97459.

The Chief Petty Officers Association here in North Bend can take donations for any sector that you would like so please specify whether you are wishing it to go to the North Bend sector, or the Coos Bay Small Boat sector.  Mr. Sweetman has already contacted all the different sectors and composed a list of the Coast Guard members most needing help.
