Big Contra Dance September 13 in Greenacres
The South Coast Folk Society will host a big public Contra Dance at the Greenacres Grange Hall on Saturday evening, September 13. Singles, couples and families are all welcome. The fun begins at 7PM with dance instruction. Ron Bell-Roemer of Bend will teach the simple steps and patterns of this exciting way to dance to live music. The dances are so easy to learn that all levels of experience will enjoy dancing together, and Ron is a great teacher. He will go on to call a variety of interesting dances throughout the evening.
Music for our September dance will be provided by The Outstanding Open Band, a vibrant collection of charismatic musicians from the South Coast. They will play lively, energizing dance tunes until 10PM. The program includes contras, circle mixers, and a waltz or two. First timers who arrive in time for the 7PM lesson will receive a ticket for free admission to their second dance. This event is alcohol and fragrance free. Put on your dancing shoes and join us.
The Second-Saturday Contra Dance is sponsored by the non-profit Folk Society. Refreshments are available during the dance. Doors open at 6:45PM. Admission: General $7, Students w/ID and Seniors over 60 $6, Members $5, and Supervised Children under 6 are free.
