HOME: Jan, Feb, March 2020

What does it feel like?

Is it where you hang your hat or where your heart is?

Inside or outside scenes?

At home or abroad-- images of traveling and/or finding home there?

Wanderlust? Your place of comfort. 

LANDSCAPE AS MUSE: April, May, June 2020

What did the muse whisper in your ear?

Why did you want to paint this?
Write about what inspired this painting in a sentence, paragraph, poem, haiku or no more than one page of prose.

Art inspired by the “Old Masters” or even contemporary masters.

                                    Call to Artists July 2019

“LOOKING UP!”

Works can be scenes from a bug’s eye view, your eyes, or your mind’s eye.

Think treetops, day or night sky views, cloud scenes, mountain tops, outer 

space, or other ideas you dream up that relate to the theme.

The Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center will host a show of artworks 

relating to the theme of Looking Up! This show runs July through September 

2019.

As usual you can be creative in your interpretation of the theme, keeping in 

mind that art on the hospital walls is meant to entertain and de-stress the 

patients, families, staff, and general visitors.  It is not a venue for 

nudity, violence, morbidity, or as a political soapbox. Thank you for your 

continued positive approach to art in these shows.

Artists may enter 1-3 pieces using painting, collage, mixed media, drawing, 

photography or assemblage in all artistic styles: representational, 

abstract, impressionistic, or futuristic.  All works must be able to be hung 

on the wall.

Show Calendar:

Show runs July, August and September 2019

Reception:  Sunday, July 7, 2019    1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Delivery of Art:

Wednesday, July 3, 2019  2 p.m.

Bring ready-to-hang art with your paperwork to the cafeteria area at 

Southern Coos Hospital on Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m., or make alternative 

arrangements with show organizers.
