These may be as broad as the Pacific Ocean or as minute as a seashell found on the beach; images that evoke memories of all things coastal.

Oregon Coast Values Survey
A research team at Portland State University is conducting a survey of Oregonians. This survey seeks to understand how Oregon residents use and value the coast and ocean. The survey asks about opinions on marine management activities, and preferences for future management. The survey also includes an online mapping activity, allowing those who take the survey to indicate places on the coast that are important to them, and to recommend changes in management of areas.
The goal of the survey is to reach a broad set of adult residents who have lived in Oregon for a year or more. We also want to make sure we hear from people across the state, including Eastern Oregon and Southern Oregon. Please feel free to share this link with others via email, social media, or any other way you feel comfortable.
To access the survey, follow this link below:
This project is funded by Oregon Sea Grant and findings will be shared in a final report to managers, researchers, and the public. All responses will be anonymous and only summaries of findings will be shared.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Paul Manson, a PhD student researcher at Portland State University: mansonp@pdx.edu. You may also contact the project’s principal investigator, Dr. Elise Granek at graneke@pdx.edu.

Plotting and Planning

Help us plan a new Coos Bay Public Library!
Planning is underway for a new public library in Coos Bay—and we need your input!  Join us for a discussion about our community’s library facility:  what’s working, what’s not, what improvements you’d like to see.
Community meetings will be held Tuesday, June 21 from 2-4pm and Wednesday, June 22 from 6-8pm In the Myrtlewood Room.  All ages welcome and encouraged to contribute to the process.
Our conversation will be led by representatives from the architectural firm Hacker, which has been hired by the City of Coos Bay to complete a facilities needs assessment.
